New Park! Now, last time I went to Paris, TX, I came home with a brand new Yaesu FT-991A so I avoided that side of town. The town has a population of about 25,000 and boasts both a Brookshire’s AND… Continue reading

Happy Independence Day! Full disclosure, I’m more Texan than American. My values and priorities are seldom aligned with those of our government, and apparently, are not aligned with the visible voting Americans. I definitely have more in common with Ham… Continue reading

It seems so long since I’ve activated. My club held field day at a POTA entity last weekend so the QSOs I made counted as activations, but it didn’t feel like an activation. It felt like contesting and I’ve come… Continue reading

A beautiful Friday, sunny and about 80 – there won’t be many more like this and I’m glad I got out to a park. I tried Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge but found it under water from the recent rains. Really… Continue reading

240505@US-0548 Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge
I wrapped the weekend with a final activation on Sunday at US-0548 Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. A typical activation, typical for this weekend because it was dark and drizzly driving in but I single handedly changed the weather North Texas… Continue reading

I missed a weekend of radio and I feel it. Last weekend, I drove down to Clifton to shoot a Sporting Clays tournament with some good friends. It was a great time; travel, catching up with friends, and punctuated with… Continue reading
