Liberation Day

I saw the surgeon yesterday and he cleared me to do anything that doesn’t hurt. For those of you “not in the know”, I broke a leg several weeks ago – just a small fracture of the tibia – and have been down for seven weeks.

After an X-ray, the doc explained, “Blah blah doctor talk, blah blah you can put full weight on your leg if it doesn’t hurt.”  I’M FREE! Full duty.  Time to get to a park, time to lose the Hamstick, time to throw a wire in a tree for decent performance.

I went to bed with it raining and when I woke, it was still raining. Still raining now.  Undeterred, I thought, I’ll just drive to a park where it’s not raining.  Right?  Wrong.  Abilene to the West or Shreveport to the East – that’s where it’s dry right now.

Being a Native Texan, I never speak ill of the weather, especially rain because nature here will respond like a parent saying, “I’ll give you something to cry about.”  But, I’m really disappointed.

I’ll see what tomorrow brings and in the meantime, here’s my last activation.

As always,
